Vandenhurk and Hudson Get Called Up

The Orioles selected the contracts of RHP Rick Vandenhurk and OF Kyle Hudson.

The Orioles today announced that they have selected the contracts of RHP Rick VandenHurk and OF Kyle Hudson from Triple-A Norfolk.

VandenHurk was 9-13 with a 4.43 ERA (154.1IP, 76ER) in 26 starts for Norfolk this season. In 42 career major league games (33 starts) VandenHurk is 8-10 with a 5.86 ERA (172.0IP, 112ER) with Florida and Baltimore. In 2010 he appeared in seven games for the Orioles going 0-1 with a 4.96 ERA (16.1IP, 9ER).

Hudson played for the Frederick Keys, Bowie Baysox and Norfolk Tides this season and has batted .276 with 77 RBI and 119 stolen bases in four seasons in the minors. He was batting .297 with 11 RBI and 26 stolen bases in 68 games for the Tides in 2011.

VandenHurk will wear uniform #54 and Hudson will wear uniform #51.
