Orioles News and Notes- 4/12/12

News and notes on Adam Jones, Dylan Bundy and more.

Jones,Adam (Baltimore Orioles) (4/11/2012)

----------------------------------------------------------

CF Adam Jones has gotten more selective at the plate as his career has gone along, but Wednesday he seemed to be swinging out of his shoes in the ninth inning. Jones took some home run hacks with the bases loaded and two out in a tie game, and he struck out. He did steal his third base of the season in a 1-for-5 night.

Bundy,Dylan (Baltimore Orioles) (4/11/2012)

----------------------------------------------------------

RHP Dylan Bundy followed up an impressive pro debut with another great performance at low Class A Delmarva. Bundy struck out six in three innings of no-hit work -- an identical line to last week's outing. Bundy, 19, is ticketed for a promotion to high Class A Frederick at some point this season, but more performances like his first two might press the Orioles to consider more of a challenge for the 2011 first-round pick.

Pineiro,Joel (Baltimore Orioles) (4/11/2012)

----------------------------------------------------------

RHP Joel Pineiro signed a minor league contract with the Orioles and could eventually serve as a long man out of the big-league bullpen. Pineiro, 33, will join Class AAA Norfolk. He was released by Philadelphia last month after signing with the Phillies during the winter. He's pitched in parts of 12 big-league seasons, and he went 7-7 with a 5.13 ERA in 27 games (24 starts) last year with the Angels.

Gregg,Kevin (Baltimore Orioles) (4/11/2012)

----------------------------------------------------------

RHP Kevin Gregg took the loss Wednesday, allowing a two-run homer to Yankees OF Nick Swisher in the 10th inning. Gregg surrendered three hits in two innings, saving the back end of the bullpen a bit with his 38-pitch outing. The homer was on a hanging off-speed pitch.

Reynolds,Mark (Baltimore Orioles) (4/11/2012)

----------------------------------------------------------

3B Mark Reynolds doubled in a pair of runs Wednesday after booting a routine grounder that allowed New York to score the tying run the night before. Reynolds was 1-for-3 Wednesday with two walks and two RBI. The double was his second of the year.
