The Hotsheet (4/19-4/26) #1 Brandon Tripp – Frederick Keys – 16 for 33 (4 doubles, 4 HR, 11 RBI) Brandon Tripp stayed hot, batting .480 during an eight game hitting streak that included a grand slam. #2 Terry Tiffee – Norfolk Tides – 11 for 24 (2 RBI, 2 R) In six games last week, the third baseman produced five multiple hit games and batted .450. #3 Mike Cervenak – Norfolk Tides – 12 for 29 (2HR, 3 doubles, 5 RBI, 5 R) The versatile infielder showed why he is a force to be reckoned with at the plate, en-route to three three-hit games. #4 Cesar Crespo – Norfolk Tides – 10 for 25 (2 doubles, 3 RBI, 3 R) The outfielder hit safely in six of seven games last week and produced four multi-hit games. #5 Blake Davis – Frederick Keys – 11 for 30 (5 doubles, 1 HR, 3 RBI) Blake Davis showed significant signs of power last week, collecting five doubles and amassing a batting average of .360. #6 Luis Hernandez – Bowie Baysox – 10 for 32 (2 doubles, 8 RBI) The 23 year old shortstop, generally known for his defensive skills, drove in eight runs and batted .310 during a seven game span. #7 Oscar Salazar – Bowie Baysox – 11 for 30 (1 HR, 2 doubles, 6 RBI) The third baseman collected five multi-hit games last week, while driving in six runs. #8 Ryan Finan – Frederick Keys – 6 for 19 (2 HR, 4 RBI, 1 double) Finan was batting .080 when the week began but showed great discipline and power from the left side of the batters box during a six game stretch that saw him bat .310 with two long balls. #9 Reid Hamblet – Bowie Baysox The starting pitcher picked up two victories last week by allowing only 1 hit, zero earned runs and striking out four in 5.1 innings of work. #10 Brandon Erbe – Frederick Keys The 19-year old notched his first win of the season with a very strong outing by allowing only 1 earned run and collecting seven strikeouts in six innings of work. The Not So Hotsheet Stu Musslewhite – Delmarva Shorebirds – 3 for 24 Musslewhite, who plays all over the infield, really struggled at the plate last week, collecting only three hits and striking out over a half dozen times. Adam Stern – Norfolk Tides – 4 for 25 (7 strikeouts) The Tides’ leadoff man saw his average plummet ninety points in one miserable week. Dustin Yount – Frederick Keys – 1 for 14 (2 errors) The left-handed hitting first baseman saw his struggles at the plate continue when he batted just .070 in five games last week, driving in only one run.
