ITW Contributor Josh Brickman returns with 2008's first edition of The Hot Sheet. Some big name Orioles prospects make the list in this week's tour of the Minors. A submarine was spotted off the Eastern Shore while Moore success stories are found by the water as well. Take a look inside to find out what all of this means.

The Hot Sheet

1. Matthew Tucker – Delmarva Shorebirds (11/22, 7 runs, 9 RBI, 2 2B)

The Shorebirds’ shortstop tallied four multi-hit games and drove in 9 runs en route to hitting .500 for the Week.

2. Matt Wieters – Bowie Baysox (9/25, 5 runs, 2 HR, 5 RBI)

The top prospect, rated by ITW, in the Orioles farm system has been on a tear at the plate, as usual. Last week the catcher extended his hitting streak to eleven games while batting .360.

3. Brandon Snyder – Frederick Keys (12/27, 7 runs, 5 2B, 2 HR)

Snyder continued to stay hot at the plate last week while extending his hitting streak to 10 games and producing four multi-hit games.

4. Luis Terrero – Norfolk Tides (9/28, 5 runs, 3 2B, 3 HR, 8 RBI)

Terrero displayed his power and consistency at the plate last week by belting three long balls, three doubles and knocking in eight runs while extending his hitting streak to seven games.

5. Tike Redman – Norfolk Tides (9/28, 7 runs 2 2B, HR, 4 RBI)

The Tides’ speedy outfielder continued to show why he is invaluable worth in the batters box last week. Redman scored seven runs, drove in another four and produced four multi-hit games while batting .410.

6. Oscar Salazar – Norfolk Tides (9/24, 5 runs, 3 2B, 3B, HR, 5 RBI)

The first baseman and .310 hitter on the season stayed hot at the plate and extended his hitting streak to eight games.

7. Mick Mattaliano – Delmarva Shorebirds (3 saves, 0 ER)

The Shorebirds’ closer continues to stymie Sally League batters with his submarine style delivery, collecting three saves in as many opportunities. Over Mattaliano’s last eleven innings of work he has yielded only one earned run. This late inning reliever went un-drafted last year before signing with the Orioles.

8. Justin Moore – GCL Orioles (10 IP, O ER, 9 H, 9 K, 0 BB)

One really has to stand out to make a hot sheet from a GCL team, and Moore did. How about a 0.9 WHIP this week with no walks. His stats show he’s pitching over his league, but his age doesn’t. He’ll turn 19 later this month.

9. Craig Anderson – Norfolk Tides (7 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 8 K)

The southpaw picked up his second win of the season by allowing only three hits, one earned run and fanning eight in seven innings of work.

10. Scott Moore – Norfolk Tides (9/18, 4 runs, 4 2B, HR, 5 RBI)

The Tides’ third baseman continued to make strides at the plate last week by tallying five extra base hits and driving in five runs.

Apologies to Chris Salberg (Aberdeen), Xavier Avery (GCL), Mike McCoy (Norfolk), Elvin Polanco (Bluefield), Colin Allen (Bluefield), and Matt Angle (Delmarva).

The Not So Hot Sheet

1. Mike Rodriguez – Bowie Baysox (2/19)

Rodriguez continued to struggle at the plate last week managing only two hits and striking out nine times.

2. Carlos Rojas – Bowie Baysox (3/19)

The Baysox second baseman saw his average slip ever so close to the Mendoza line with another poor showing in the batters box this week.

3. Chris Roberson – Norfolk Tides (2/29)

The Triple-A outfielder finds himself in the midst of a horrid slump. Over his last ten games he is batting a measly .125.
