ITW: Who are you represented by?
Pete Andrelczyk: I don’t have any representation.
ITW: Did you know the Orioles were interested in you?
Pete Andrelczyk: Yes, I talked to them. I filled out some information for them and talked to one of their scouts on the day prior to the draft and on the second day of the draft.
ITW: Who did you grow up rooting for in the major leagues?
Pete Andrelczyk: When I grew up, I was a Houston Astros fan.
ITW: Do you model your game after anybody?
Pete Andrelczyk: No, not really. I mean, Tim Hudson; I try to sort of emulate a little of what he does, but most of all it’s just looking around and trying to pick and choose different things from different people that I think I can make work for myself, but nobody in particular.
ITW: What pitches do you throw, and at what velocities?
Pete Andrelczyk: Fastball, slider, curveball and developing a changeup. My fastball is anywhere from 90-95, or 90-94 consistently.
ITW: What is your "out" pitch?
Pete Andrelczyk: With two strikes, I go with the slider more often than not.
ITW: What part of your game have you improved the most since coming to college?
Pete Andrelczyk: My mental aspect; just being prepared for everything and just knowing that I have the ability to get people out. I just needed to focus and be mentally be ready for every situation that was in front of me.
ITW: Has anyone from the organization contacted you yet?
Pete Andrelczyk: Yes. I talked to the scout that talked to me prior to the draft. I’ve talked to him and, as a family and as a personal decision, I’m going to go back to school for another year.
